The best way to customize your setup is to go through these questions step by step:

  1. How much "automatic" shifting do you want?
    a. If you want the MGU to always shift automatically, use Auto.Shift. A long press (2s) on the front gear lever enables automatic shifting, even under load.

    b. If you only want the MGU to change gears while coasting, ensuring you’re in the right gear when you start pedaling again, activate Pre.Select and set your desired cadence and the lowest gear to shift into.

    c. If you want the MGU to automatically shift into a starting gear when you stop, activate Start.Select. You can choose your preferred starting gear in the menu.

  2. Auto.Shift or Auto.Shift.Pro—which is better for your riding style?
If you only want to adjust cadence while riding and don't need manual gear changes, Auto.Shift is the right choice.
If you prefer the option to manually override the automatic shifting, Auto.Shift.Pro is better for you. In this mode, the MGU adjusts to your cadence after manual gear shifts. The pre-set cadence is used as the default until you shift manually.

  3. How does the MGU behave when the starting gear is activated in Auto.Shift mode?
With Auto.Shift on, the MGU will not shift below your pre-defined starting gear after coasting in a higher gear. However, when pedaling slowly, it may shift to a lower gear and hold that gear when you stop. Without a pre-defined starting gear, you’ll always start in first gear after stopping, which might feel 'too soft' for starting. Conversely, not setting a starting gear may result in a more dynamic shift when restarting in lower gears.
