The chain tensioner was originally developed by Pinion for full suspension frames to compensate for chain elongation when compressing the rear triangle. It can also be used on rigid frames that do not have an integrated chain tensioning function (such as adjustable dropouts).
When do I need a chain tensioner when using a Pinion transmission?
